ABOUT FTC

(For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that designs accessible and innovative programs in order to motivative students to pursue careers in FIRST, founded by Dean Kamen in 1989, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Based in New Hampshire, the FIRST program has gained huge success and now reaches over 400,000 students annually.

FIRST.

FIRST Tech Challenge.

First Tech Challenge (FTC) is the third level of competition with the four tiers of FIRST Robotics; FTC is designed for students in Grades 9 through 12, wherein teams consisting of six to twelve members design and construct a robot that successfully completes the given challenge. Each competitive team FIRSTdesigns, builds, and programs an individual robot that completes the annual challenge, which is then taken to competition. FIRST introduces students to engineering and technology using a unique environment that provides real world experience in a variety of professional fields.
